Undergraduate Program

Requirements for the major include course work in genetics, cell and molecular biology, ecology and evolution, organismic biology, as well as supporting course work in chemistry, calculus, statistics, and physics.

The School of Biological Sciences Advising Center has more details about the undergraduate major in Biological Sciences. One of the strengths of our program is you can pursue your particular interests--which might include microbiology, ecology, genetics, or physiology—through course work, independent study, and lab experience supervised by a faculty member.

Do Research

Research Opportunities are available at various levels. You can gain field biology experience by studying at Cedar Point Biological Station, which offers many hands-on lab and field courses during the summer. For many biological sciences students, Cedar Point is the highlight of their undergraduate experience.

Meet People

We strongly recommend our students participate in at least one of our student organizations Beta Beta Beta Honor Society and Biology Club.

Funding Opportunities are available through the School in a wide variety of Scholarships and Fellowships. Applications are available in the Spring of each year.
