Awa Youm, biological sciences, was recognized by the 114th class of the Society of Innocents as a 2019 Oustanding Senior "for her dedication to the Lincoln community as well as her commitment to our founding pillars: scholarship, leadership, and service," Aubree Ford wrote in the letter informing Youm of the recognition. "Through her dedication and innovation to the university, she has left this campus a better place for students and faculty because of the work she has done here."

Youm was invited to attend and celebrate her success on Ivy Day, the campus’s longest standing tradition, on April 6, 2019. At the ceremony Youm was honored as an Outstanding Senior, as well as new members of the Innocents Society and Mortar Board, and Honorary members of both societies.
