Name: Morgan Alyssa Weier
Major: Anthropology , Minor: Biology (Pre-dental student)
Hometown: Lincoln, NE
Year at UNL: 4th Year

Favorite Book: Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens because it is a very detailed book. I also sadly relate to the main character's story regarding assault and mental abuse.

Favorite Movies: Parent Trap, the newer version starring Lindsay Lohan. Romantic movies are my favorite, and I love the romantic aspect of this movie. The twins are both played by Lindsay Lohan and I always thought that was super cool. My second favorite movie is My Big Fat Greek wedding because it is hilarious. Whenever someone gets hurt, the Greek dad just says "just put some Windex on it" haha ! I also really relate to the struggles of the dating pool in this generation. The main character is in her 30s and is feeling the pressure by her family and herself to get a man. (He is a pretty dreamy character as well, which I love)

Why Anthropology?
I am studying anthropology and biology because I am on the pre-dental track. I am very extravertive. I love science and I love learning about people. The biology and anthro classes that I have taken will be very useful for me when I attend the dental assisting program, this upcoming fall.

My favorite class that I have ever taken at UNL would be my dental anthropology course. It was the only class that I have taken that had a direct link to the dental field. The textbook is also very interesting, and I still have it because it is very useful for dental studies. I also loved my language courses in French. My Family, Marriage and Kinship class with Emira Ibrahimpasic was also one of my favorites that I have taken over the course of my 4 years in college at UNL. I loved learning about how different the family dynamics are around the globe.

Extracurricular Experiences:
The best decision I've ever made in my life would be studying abroad in France, the summer after my junior year. I spent a month in Angers, France, two weekends in Nantes, France and half of a day in Paris. I was in Paris, the same year that the Olympics were going on. It was super cool, even though I didn't go to the Olympic games. I got to see the Olympic symbol on the Eiffel tower, which was pretty epic. The trip was around $5,000 + dollars but it was 100% worth it. I am so beyond happy that I went when I did, because I met the coolest people, including the French and people from different areas around the world, that I still talk to today. The French professors, Francoise Agena, and Katherine were amazing and very helpful in showing us around their country. I really recommend studying abroad (specifically in France!)

Post-Graduation Plans:
Post-graduation plans include going to SCC for dental assisting with hopes of eventually getting into orthodontic assisting. I have always been interested in helping people, braces and the technology present in the dental field. My long-time goal has been to go to UNMC school of dentistry in Lincoln, NE in hopes of becoming the doctor (an orthodontist) but I haven't had the best of luck with my Physics and Chemistry courses, (which are dental pre-reqs). My plan is to feel out assisting and be in that field for a while, putting on the wires, brackets, and colorful bands and see if I am good at it and really enjoy it. If I like that enough, I might have enough motivation to go back to school and figure the rest out. I eventually want to have kids, 3 as the max and two labs of my own (my family has 2 black labs: Zero and Luka) but that is more of a future-future goal.

More Facts about me: I have a summer birthday (July 23rd: Golden BDAY YEAR!!!), I'll be turning 23! I have a younger sister named Madison, who is 18, My favorite Hobby is: Fishing, I am a huge concert goer. I especially love country music and pop artists like Tate Mcrae. I am also a HUGE gym rat and love lifting and stair stepper cardio.

Favorite food: Pepperoni Cream Cheese Pizza
