I am broadly interested in how sexual and natural selection jointly shape animal reproductive physiology, with particular emphasis on sperm performance and fertility. For my PhD, I studied evolutionary divergence and adaptive plasticity of sperm thermal tolerance in lizards.
As a PoE Fellow, I’m working with Dr. Kristi Montooth and Dr. Colin Meiklejohn to study how thermal environments influence reproductive performance in Drosophila, including temperature effects on fertility, fecundity, and sperm competition dynamics within and across species. I am also working on field crickets to study how life history traits, including wing dimorphism and male quality, correlated with reproductive investment like spermatophore and sperm traits. Additionally, I will also be working with Dr. Eileen Hebets to examine how perceived cannibalism risk alters reproductive investment in jumping spiders. Outside of research, I enjoy keeping and breeding reptile pets, wildlife photography, and playing disc golf.
