Team receives $1.4M grant to research protein evolution

Scott Gardner holds up a parasite preserved on a slide in the Manter Laboratory of Parasitology. Gardner led a team that discovered four new species of tuco-tucos while studying parasites in Bolivia. Tuco-tucos are a South American rodent, about 24 inches long that live in Bolivia.
