This page provides general tips and some requirements specific to the SBS Undergraduate Research Symposium but you should follow any discipline-specific guidelines when developing your poster presentation. You should work closely with your advisor or mentor when developing your poster and presentation. Students presenting at the UNL Student Research Days are encouraged to submit and present their work at the symposium.
POSTER AND PRESENTATION FORMAT
Students need to bring a printed poster to the event, no larger than 40 x 48 inches. There are numerous programs and tools for developing a poster that provides the essential details of your project (e.g. PowerPoint, Publisher, Prezi, etc.). Each student or group of students will present their work and meet with judges to answer questions about their research project and presentation during the symposium. Each student or group of students will bring their printed poster to the symposium. The symposium will be separated into mini-sessions. Students will stand next to their poster throughout their assigned session to share about their research and answer questions. Then they will have the opportunity to circulate and visit other posters during the other mini-session. More information about your assigned session time will be provided via email.
